Situated off the A50 and close to the M1, Hemington is easy to miss. The village dates back to Norman times. The pub is a 17th Century building, thought to have originally been a weaver's cottage. It has been a pub since the 19th Century and retains lots of original features such as old timbers, open fires and beamed ceiling, which provide a convenient place to hang the collection of blow lamps and beer mugs. There is a separate restaurant that is also available for functions and meetings. Gravity cider is available. Meals are served 12-2 and evenings Monday -Saturday. No food Sundays.

Marston's Burton Bitter, Pedigree,

The Blue Lion is a late 18th century rural pub, once two cottages, in the small village of Thrussington in the Wreake valley. The pub is owned by Wolverhampton and Dudley brewery and the regular beers are from their list. There are Marston's Burton Bitter and Pedigree permanently on draught, with a guest often from the seasonal range. There is a comfortable lounge where you can enjoy good value pub grub with meat bought from a local butcher. The bar is the heart of the pub, where locals meet to challenge each other to high pressure darts and dominoes matches. The pub also fields strong Petanque teams which play on the pitch at the back of the pub. Look out for the extensive collection of teapots (over 160) which line the walls. At Christmas the pub is festooned with decorations and the challenge is for Mandy to find room for new ones each year. Outside there is a secluded garden where you can sit in the sun watching the chickens strutting around in their pen. Non smoking throughout following a recent refurbishment.

Traditional two room local. Large bar and comfortable small lounge with real fires. Don't miss a visit to the totally unspoilt toilets with their tiled walls and original features. Also worth trying one of the large range of malt whiskies. Cobs available at lunchtimes.

Unfortunately, due to the purchase of Hardys and Hansons brewery by Greene King of Bury St Edmonds, the choice of beer available is likely to change in the new year. Jim is proud of the quality of his beers and is well known far and wide for the superb pint of mild he sells. If we want to continue to enjoy it we should join in the campaign to keep these beers from disappearing. CAMRA is still fighting to stop the Kimberly brewery from closing .

If you’d been away for a couple of years you wouldn’t recognise this pub. Re-opened just over a year ago following a massive refurbishment, it now boasts up to six well kept real ales where once there were none. The interior has been opened out to provide comfortable eating areas as well as a bar area. Since opening they have received a number of awards for the quality of their beer and food. The entire pub interior is non-smoking. Outside there is a large decked area where you can sit and enjoy a drink while watching steam trains go by.

Formally known as The Charnwood, The Swan was one of Tynmill's earliest pubs, opening in 1986. There are three rooms each with a different atmosphere. The dining room/ family room is permanently no smoking and provides a quiet room for enjoying one of the freshly cooked wholesome meals and snacks available lunchtimes and weekday evenings or for chatting to friends. The Garendon Room is non smoking until early evening and provides a comfortable place to sit and enjoy the constantly changing range of up to 6 guest beer, one of which is always a mild, as well as real cider and perry. There is also a limited range of continental bottled and draught beers available, as well as a good range of malt whiskies and country wines. The Charnwood Vaults is a more lively room with a juke box and wooden bench seating. Upstairs there is a skittle alley/function room which hosts live music and the twice yearly beer festivals.
