Branch History
The first meeting of the branch was a sounding out gathering to see if a branch would be viable. This was held in the Griffin pub in Ashby Square, Loughborough on the second Thursday (14th) in November 1974 also the first night of Loughborough Fair.
A follow up meeting took place at the Priory, Nanpantan in early December. The exact date is unknown. However about a week later there was a committee meeting in the Peacock, Loughborough. There was a photo taken for the old Loughborough Monitor of the first committee meeting of the branch.
The chairman was Richard Sanders, Nick Hawkins was secretary, Norman Campbell was Treasurer and there were a further 4 committee members including Keith Mitchell, Bert Hennesay and Keith Balderton.
