2020 Loughborough Beer Festival

Date: 5 March 2020 to 07 March 2020
Summary: Polish Club, Truelovers Walk

Welcome to Loughborough Beer Festival at the Polish Club Loughborough, for our 44th Festival. We are proud to be one of the  longest running beer festivals in the Country. Few of the Breweries or beers available at the first festival are still around. Most of them would never have made it to a present day beer festival but in those days you were often just grateful to see real ale. Today we are spoilt for choice when it comes to ordering beer, there are so many breweries and more starting all the time.

There will be around 60 different real ales available at this festival, including many from within a 30 mile radius of Loughborough. Stouts and Porters are becoming increasingly popular so we have got a number of different ones for you to try.

Additional to the cask real ales we also have a few craft beers as well as the usual range of ciders and Perries. Like last year, bottles of Tynt Meadow Trappist beer will be available, the first Trappist beer to brewed in this country and on our patch at Mount St. Bernard’s Abbey.

This year, for the first time, we will have a Gin Bar with a selection of Gins and Tonics provided by Two Birds Spirits. The Gin Bar will be open on Friday from 5:00pm, and Saturday all day.

Free soft drinks will be available for drivers.

We will again be providing glasses from our stock of commemorative half pint tankards from previous festivals which will be available to buy or hire. You wouldn’t expect to drink out of the same glass all evening in a pub, so why should a beer festival be any different. As in previous years we will be offering to exchange your dirty glass for a clean one, so that you can enjoy your beers in the best condition. Just bring your glass back to the entrance to exchange (commemorative stocks permitting).

CAMRA and University Real Ale Society members free entry to all sessions.

As usual we will be raising money for Rainbows Children's Hospice in Loughborough so please give generously. There will be a big red donations bucket at the entrance and a tombola Saturday afternoon.

Drinking beer makes you hungry so don’t forget to sample some of our excellent food sourced from local producers and butchers.

If you are a CAMRA member and would like to help at the beer festival, you can download the staffing letter (.pdf), or Microsoft Word version (.docx).
