Pub Awards


The branch changed the format of its Pub Awards in 2019. A Pub of the Month award is made every 2 months. Each award is themed.

In December, we choose the Pub of the year for the following year. This pub is then put forward as a candidate for the regional Pub of the Year.

For 2020, the winners were :

A small neat bar which opened in October 2018 in a former warehouse building.

3-5 real ales served direct from casks stillaged behind the counter. Constantly changing range. No keg beers.

The in-house microbrewery is visible in a room directly behind the bar, and started production late 2019.

The Anchor is situated in the centre of a small village within easy reach of Leicester and Nottingham via the A46. It is a popular venue for walkers who stop for a well-earned home-cooked lunch in front of the log fire. There is a menu to suit all tastes plus an extensive specials board. Outside is an elevated seating area to the front and a garden and large car park to the rear.

The Anchor pub serves 3 regular beers.

and one changing beer, typically from Charnwood.
