Voting took place at the Branch Meeting on 26th September 2017 for Cider Pub of the Year.

Four pubs were nominated by members :

Black Lion, Blackfordby
Bitter & Twisted, Coalville
Needle & Pin, Loughborough
Swan in the Rushes, Loughborough

The winner is The Black Lion, Blackfordby

This Charming Village Local is a pleasant place to travel to for a pint of cider. They regularly have between four and six ciders of varying degrees of strength, and in a good condition. The staff are pleasant and keen to help you find out what you would like to drink cider-wise.

The Black Lion is a rare place indeed. Local village pubs rarely offer one real cider let alone six, and for all to be kept in a good condition, show they are popular with the clientele.

The presentation of the award took place on Tuesday 24th October at approximately 8:15pm.
